The University of Limerick recently hosted a groundbreaking workshop titled “Composite Materials: State of the Art and Future Prospects.” This event, held on the university’s campus, gathered an inquisitive research community to explore the current advancements and future directions of composite materials, particularly emphasizing the push towards greener and more sustainable solutions.
The workshop featured a series of insightful presentations and discussions, attracting leading researchers and industry experts from around the globe. Among the notable contributions was a presentation by a researcher from the CUBIC project, who introduced a method titled “A Quick Fatigue Assessment Method for FRP Composites.”This method rapidly assesses the compatibility of fiber reinforcement and polymer matrix under fatigue loading, facilitating faster product development and the adoption of biobased reinforcement and matrix materials for composites.
This event marks another step forward in the collaborative effort to revolutionize composite materials and foster a more sustainable future.
